Question:  The LCD screen is too dark, how can I adjust the brightness of the LCD screen?
Answer:  You can check the brightness of the screen by pressing the (Fn)+(F11) and (F12) keys.
Question:  How to enable the hot-swapping function of the eSATA port?
Answer:  The eSATA port only supports hot-swapping if you have selected IDE-AHCI class in SATA Class ID. If you have selected IDE native class mode, then hot-swapping devices connected to the eSATA port is not supported. To do this press Del at the system boot-up then go to Advanced Chipset Control (Advanced Menu) Pressing Enter here will access the sub-menus which allow you to adjust advanced chipset controls. Only available if Windows Vista is selected as the O/S..
Question:  How can I use the Numeric Keypad or the Scroll Lock?
Answer:  Hold down the Fn Key and either NumLk or ScrLk to enable number or scroll lock, and check the LED indicator for status.
Question:  The TouchPad is not working
Answer:  Hold down the Fn + F1 to enable or disable the TouchPad
Question:  There is no backlight on the LCD
Answer:  Hold down the Fn + F2 Turn LCD Backlight Off (Press a key to or use TouchPad to turn on)
Question:  There is no sound coming out from the speaker but I already installed the Audio Driver.
Answer:  Hold down the Fn + F3 (Mute Toggle) or Fn + F5/F6 to increase the volume
Question:  There is no Wireless Card detected on my system?
Answer:  Install the Wireless Card driver. Hold down the Fn + F11 Turn on or turn off the WiFi.
Question:  Does the built-in Memory Card Reader of my laptop support the SD card?
Answer:  Yes. The card reader allows you to use the most popular digital storage card formats: MMC (MultiMedia Card) / SD (Secure Digital) / MS (Memory Stick) / MS Pro (Memory Stick Pro) / MS Duo (requires PC adapter) / Mini SD (requires PC adapter) / RS MMC (requires PC adapter)
Question:  The CD/ DVD Drive eject function is not working?
Answer:  If you need to manually eject a CD (e.g. due to an unexpected power interruption) you may push the end of a straightened paper clip into the emergency eject hole. However please do NOT use a sharpened pencil or similar object that may break and become lodged in the hole.

Disk Eject Warning
Don’t try to remove a CD/DVD while the system is accessing it. This may cause the system to “crash”.
Question:  How do I completely discharge the battery?
Answer:  Use the computer with battery power until it shuts down due to a low battery. Don’t turn off the computer even if a message indicates the battery is critically low, just let the computer use up all of the battery power and shut down on its own.

1. Save and close all files and applications.
2. Create a power plan for discharging the battery and set all the options to Never.
3. Click Change plan settings (after saving it) and click Change advanced power settings.
4. Scroll down to Battery and click + to expand the battery options.
5. Choose the options below (click Yes if a warning appears):
      • Low battery levels = 0%
      • Critical battery Levels = 0%
      • Low battery action = Do Nothing
      • Critical battery action (On battery) = Shut Down
      • Critical battery action (Plugged in) = Do Nothing
Question:  How do I fully charge the battery?
Answer:  When charging the battery, don’t stop until the LED charging indicator light changes from orange to green.
Question:  How do I maintain the battery?
Answer:  Completely discharge and charge the battery at least once every 30 days or after about 20 partial discharges.
Question:  The Web Camera display is flickering, what is happening?
Answer:  The 2.0M PC Camera module supports a frame rate of 12 fps. If you find that the screen refresh rate is subject to lag or stuttering, then reduce the window size, or adjust the Output Size and/or Color Space Compression.

To reduce Output Size and/or Color Space Compression run the BisonCap application, click Options and select Video Capture Pin. Adjust the settings from the appropriate pull-down menu.
Question:  Where can I find the pictures taken by the web camera?
Answer:  The Snapshot folder’s default location is on the desktop. Do not move this folder or an error may appear when you try to take a still picture. If you accidentally delete or move the folder, you can create a new Snapshot folder on the desktop in order to capture the files.
Question:  I can’t install the Wireless LAN Module Driver. There is a windows keeps on popping up saying please Turn on your WLAN module.
Answer:  Use the Fn + F11 key combination to turn on the power of the Wireless LAN module.
Question:  There is no power on my Laptop...
Answer:  Is the computer actually plugged into a working electrical outlet? If plugged into a power strip, make sure it is actually working. Check the LED Power and Communication Indicators to see the computer’s power status. Check all the cables to make sure that there are no loose connections anywhere.
Question:  When I turn on my laptop, there is a message “Invalid system disk - Replace the disk, and then press any key” / “Remove disks or other media. Press any key to restart”). What do I do?
Answer:  Make sure there are no optical media and/or USB storage devices in any connected drive.
Question:  I turned on the power but it doesn’t work.
Answer:  Battery missing / incorrectly installed. Check the battery bay, make sure the battery is present and seated properly (the design of the battery only allows it to go in one way). Make sure there’s nothing interfering with the battery contacts.
Question:  The battery LED power indicator is blinking orange.
Answer:  Low Battery. Plug in the DC power source. If the computer doesn’t start up immediately, turn it off then on again.
Question:  My laptop is losing battery power too quickly.
Answer:  The system is using too much power. If your OS has a Power Options scheme check its settings. You may also be using an ExpressCard/USB device/external device that is drawing a lot of power.
Question:  My laptop's actual battery operating time is shorter than expected.
Answer:  The battery has not been fully discharged before being recharged. Make sure the battery is fully discharged and recharge it completely before reusing. Power Options have been disabled. Go to the Control Panel in Windows and re-enable the options. A peripheral device/USB device/ExpressCard is consuming a lot of power. Turn off/remove the unused device to save power.
Question:  The computer feels too hot.
Answer:  Make sure the computer is properly ventilated and the Vent/Fan intakes are not blocked. If this doesn’t cool it down, put the system into Hibernate mode or turn it off for an hour. Make sure the computer isn’t sitting on a thermal surface. Make sure you’re using the correct adapter. Make sure that your notebook is completely powered off before putting it into a travel bag (or any such container). Putting a notebook, which is powered on in a travel bag may cause the Vent/Fan intakes to be blocked.
Question:  Nothing appears on screen.
Answer:  The system is in a power saving mode. Toggle the sleep/resume key combination, Fn + F4 The screen controls need to be adjusted. Toggle the screen control key combinations Fn + F8/F9. If you’re connected to an external monitor, make sure it’s plugged in and turned on. You should also check the monitor’s own brightness and contrast controls. The computer is set for a different display. Toggle the screen display key combination, Fn + F7. If an external monitor is connected, turn it on. The screen saver is activated. Press any key or touch the TouchPad.
Question:  No image appears on the external monitor I have plugged in and powered on.
Answer:  You haven’t installed the video driver and configured it appropriately from the Control Panel
Question:  The sound cannot be heard or the volume is very low.
Answer:  The volume might be set too low. Check the volume control in the Volume Control Panel in the Windows taskbar, or use the key combination Fn + F5 and F6 to adjust
Question:  The CD/DVD cannot be read.
Answer:  The CD/DVD is dirty. Clean it with a CD/DVD cleaner kit.
Question:  The CD/DVD tray will not open when there is a disc in the tray.
Answer:  The CD/DVD is not correctly placed in the tray. Gently try to remove the disc using the eject hole
Question:  Unwelcome numbers appear when typing.
Answer:  If the LED is lit, then Num Lock is turned ON. Hold down the Fn Key + NumLk to enable number lock, and check the LED indicator for status.
Question:  The system freezes or the screen goes dark.
Answer:  The system’s power saving features have timed-out. Use the AC/DC adapter, press the sleep (Fn + F4) key combination, or press the power button if no LEDs are lit.
Question:  The system never goes into a power saving mode.
Answer:  Power Options features are not enabled. Go to the Windows Power Options menu and enable the features you prefer. Make sure you have enabled Hibernate mode from the control panel.
Question:  The Wireless LAN module cannot be detected.
Answer:  The module is off. Check the LED indicator and/or function key indicator to see if the WLAN module is on or off. If the LED indicator is off, then press the Fn + F11 (WLAN key combination(s) in order to enable the module.
Question:  The PC Camera module cannot be detected.
Answer:  The module is off. Press the Fn + F10 key combination in order to enable the module. Run the BisonCap program to view the camera picture.
Question:  The System appears unstable.
Answer:  You have a computer with an AMD Athlon or AMD Sempron processor and have enabled the PowerPlay function in the ATI Catalyst® Control Center video control panel. The PowerPlay function is automatically enabled by default, so if your purchase option includes an AMD Athlon or AMD Sempron, click to remove the tick alongside Enable PowerPlay to disable the function. If you have an AMD Athlon or AMD Sempron processor, and have reinstalled the video driver for any reason, then make sure the PowerPlay function is disabled. If you change processors from an AMD Turion to an AMD Athlon or AMD Sempron you will need to reinstall the video driver, and then disable the PowerPlay function.
Question:  My laptop is experiencing either screen resolution reduction, or screen flickering after resuming from Sleep in Windows Vista
Answer:  1. Go to the Control Panel in the Windows OS and double-click the Administrative Tools icon (System and Maintenance).
2. Double-click Task Scheduler (Schedule Tasks).
3. Double-click Task Scheduler Library > Microsoft > Windows.
4. Click MobilePC to open the control panel.
5. Right-click TMM and select Disable.
6. Close all the control panels.
Question:  How can I enable the ATI Hybrid CrossFireX?
Answer:  CrossFireX™ (which is enabled by default) can be enabled/disabled from the ATI Catalyst® Control Center and is available only on Windows Vista.
Question:  There is display but no sound when I connect an HDMI cable between my laptop and my LCDTV
Answer:  As HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) carries both audio and video signals you will need to configure the audio output as per the instructions below.

Windows Audio Setup for HDMI
1. Connect a device with HDMI support to the HDMI-Out port.
2. Click Start, and click Control Panel (or point to Settings and click Control Panel).
3. Click Sound (Hardware and Sound).
4. Click Playback (tab), and click to select Realtek HDMI Output.
5. Click Set Default (button).
6. Click OK to close the Sound control panel.
